Samar DOST conducts TNA for MSMEs

The DOST8 Samar PSTC conducted a Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) to applicant micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Jiabong and Calbayog City, Samar for assistance under the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program.

SETUP or is one program of the DOST that intends to strengthen the country's innovation system by enabling enterprises to address their technological requirements and limitations to improve productivity and efficiency through:

~ application of appropriate technologies to improve/develop products, services and/or operation;

~ human resource training, technical assistance and productivity consultancy services;

~ assistance for compliance to regulatory and market standards such as testing and calibration services;

~ provision of financial assistance to facilitate acquisition of appropriate technologies and/or implement technological innovations

The TNA was intended to identify the needed interventions that maybe addressed through infusion of science and technology services. After the TNA DOST PSTC Samar will recommend said intervention which the proponent enterprise will develop proposal with the PSTC support for evaluation by the Internal Regional Evaluation Committee (IRTEC) composed of DOST-8 technical panel then through an External RTEC composed of business sector consultants.
